Eco-Art Competition Inspired by the Cootes to Escarpment EcoPark System

This year we held an Eco-Art Compeition for youth in collaboration with RE-create Outreach Studio and Hamilton District Christian High School. Youth artists were asked to submit artwork based on scenery from within the Cootes to Escarpment EcoPark System. The artists were presented with the question: "How can we use art to help preserve the EcoPark System?" Hamilton-Burlington is a unique area with numerous vulnerable flora and fauna and the artists were asked to capture the beauty of nature through their works.

Finalists had their works displayed at Hamilton's 541 Eatery and Exchange at an opening reception in February and in June, these works of art were on display in the Mediterranean Garden at the Royal Botanical Gardens. We look forward to continuing this collaboration and Eco-Art Compeition in 2017.
